Interview with Mickey, Nate, Anne, Ryan and Erik

JM: How many meals did you get per day?
Mickey: 3
Nate: 3
Anne: 3
Ryan: 3
Erik: 3 meals Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

JM: How would you rate the food? Please give details of why.
Mickey: 0 out of 1-100 scale
Nate: 3 out of 10. 10 being the highest.
Anne: Substandard lifeless nutrition deprived depressed pig slop
Ryan: 3 out of 5. for jail food
Erik: Over time I believe the food has gotten better, but thats not saying much. Breakfast consists of a rotation of biscuts w/ gravey (so they call it), gritts, corn flakes and sometimes eggs and potatos. Luch is usually bologna and bread, "Ham salad" aka cat food or sometimes a random hot lunch item (Had hot dogs and beans last time I was in. Dinners are usually hot and include items like goolash, spaghetti, burger patties and stuff like that. The food always gets to me. I tend not to be a picky eater but I find myself having to force down the food for the first few days. Portions are small, which forces you to avoid turning anything down. Once a month they will have special meals like buritos and even cakes and pies. The biggest thing you take away from the menue is that seasoning is almost never taken into account.

JM: Did you have any favorite/least favorite meals?
Mickey: Favorite would be any cold cereal, least favorite is what the inmates call, "catfood," it is the left over scraps of bologna, spam, turkey and whatever else mixed up with mayonaise and some other stuff, served with cheap white bread.
Nate: I liked to cookies and juice.
Anne: I think bologna is one of the WORST things you can put in your body
Ryan: meatloaf
Erik: With a little help from commisary items for adding some decent flavor to the meals, certin items are beter then others but I didnt take away any extreme memories of good meals while locked up.

JM: Were there any other snacks offered outside of meals? What was commissary like and how expensive was it?
Mickey: Off of commissary.
Nate: No.
Anne: No
Ryan: commissary only
Erik: Commisary is like a survival tool in the ADC. Coffee and saltines alowed me to get whatever I wanted on trade. A full commisary list is available and with a little help from the outside having certin items can make life at least that much more bearable. If you have a loved one looked up, sign up on line and get them a order placed ASAP. Commisary is only ordered once a week so waiting for that day can be hard. Items like good soap, shampoo and shower shoes may seem like simple things on the outside, but having them inside can change everything.
